Using Faux Flowers in Your Fall and Winter Decor
One item of decor that I love to use, mix up and change out quite frequently are Flowers. I would love to use fresh ones but the reality is that they only look good for a short while. While I savor the fresh ones I get from time to time…I’m addicted to using really good Faux Flowers. I’ve made some arrangements for Fall and Winter and I can’t wait to share them with you.
I’m proud to say I partnered with Afloral, my favorite online resource for faux florals. I hope my ideas inspire you!! A few weeks ago I shared one of my favorite Mantel arrangements. It was so fun and turned out beautifully…I think? 😉 Here is a peek!

FANCY FRUIT FOR THE TABLE
I saw an arrangement in a magazine one day and I decided to try and replicate it, of course adding my own personal touch. One of my favorite things to do is use something a little out of the ordinary to hold my flowers or arrangements. I used a champagne bucket I got from a local retailer. They are hard to find but I did find the exact one online and linked it here for you.

In Florida, we actually pick Oranges in the Winter so adding some orange branches seemed fitting and I love the idea of mixing branches and berries into my arrangements.
I used a mix of Eucalyptus, Peonies, Berries, and Branches from Afloral.
I love all the “fresh” looking florals mixed with the cool metal and the warm wood.
WINTER WHITES
I wanted to create some Cool Winter Scandinavian Design inspired arrangements as well. I knew the first thing I needed was White poppies (black center) from Afloral. I’m addicted to these stems. Not only do they feel super soft and real but they encompass my love for Black and White Decor!!! 🙂
Again, I used an “out of the ordinary” container. This metal and brass vintage bucket is heavy, unusual and has such detail. I love it mixed with these flowers.
I combined the White Poppies with some dried white naturals from Afloral and added some brown grass for height.
I layered this shelf with a faux sheepskin throw and an assortment of vintage and new candleholders. Perfect for Winter.
ROYAL BERRIES AND BRANCHES
Before I made the Mantel arrangement I mentioned earlier, I played around with a simpler version.
I wanted a clean and simple design. I love the look of branches and berries and of course, I have to add something vintage.
Again, I bought these beauties from Afloral…purple Peonies and White Berry branches.
I added these vintage chalices I’ve collected over the years. You can usually find them at thrift shops so keep your eyes open. I decided to fill them with purple ruffled succulents and small white berries for a touch of color.
I love the mix of old and new and the simplicity! I’m also a big fan of mixing textures…glass, metal, and wood. It creates character, warmth, and interest to a space. In fact, if you want to read more about how I mix Vintage and Modern Decor together, click here.

THISTLES, GOURDS AND MORE
I have always been as fond of dried and natural flowers as the fresh ones…particularly thistles. I think they are beautiful and stunning in their own way. Look at the color on these.
Instead of creating one arrangement using naturals and dried flowers, I created a big centerpiece. I have to say it’s one of my favorites. I used a vintage wood breadboard as the base, threw in a few glass vases in various sizes, and sprinkled wood candle holders from Afloral for added interest. Yep…they even sell candleholders! 😉
Oh, and I can’t forget the gourds. Cutest little ones around!
I think the grain sack runner adds the perfect touch to this Rustic, Modern Farmhouse Tablescape!
Well, there you go! I’ve had so much fun creating and playing with these faux florals. I always said I wanted a Flower Shop when I was little…with the collection I have going on, I have a small Faux Flower Shop upstairs! 😉 But I wouldn’t have it any other way. I hope I have inspired you to try something in your home. Shop your house for containers and vases that are out of the ordinary!
