Spring in the Dining Room – Rustic European Modern Charm
Well, it’s time to change things up. Spring is here and you know I’m always looking for a reason to change something! So I’ve joined my friends at Joss & Main to show you how to add some Wow to your Dining space this Spring. I’ve made it as easy as 1-2-3!
I have a confession…I’m addicted to chairs! It’s true… I am. I have the perfect place for a great round of Musical Chairs b/c I probably have 20+ scattered throughout the house!! No joke and please don’t let Mr. BeesNBurlap read this…I’m hoping he hasn’t noticed since they are scattered. 🙂 Anyway, so what’s a few more?? And can you blame me…these are gorgeous and the color goes so well with the Copper in the room!!
Design Tip #1
Chairs…One of my favorite items to use when mixing things up or changing the look of a room.
One of the reasons I love chairs so much is that they are a piece you can buy without breaking the bank. Especially if you buy from stores like Joss & Main. They carry all the stylish, popular designs you’re looking for at markdown prices. But once they sell out they are gone! So you have to keep an eye on things…the secret is getting out! 😉
I want to add that these chairs are super comfortable too. In fact, I love them so much I bought some similar ones for my counter stools. And they make the space feel and look more open due to the design.
If you know me at all you know what my next tip is going to be.
Design Tip #2
Add Texture, Texture and more Texture
I’ve said it before…if you don’t have texture it’s like wearing your best dress out to dinner and not putting on any makeup! Just doesn’t work! 🙂 Texture is the difference between a photo looking flat and boring and one you want to reach out and touch. The same applies to your home. Create a space that invites and draws people in, make them want to stay a while.
Don’t be afraid to mix and match either. Stay within a complementary color palette and maybe do something a little bit out of your comfort zone. Adding this large Terra Cotta pot is not my usual, but I love it! I added texture here by mixing Metal, Wood, Glass and Terra Cotta pieces. Does it feel inviting to you?
Design Tip #3
Add Florals and Greenery
I love using Florals and Greenery throughout my home. I even love the dried up naturals that many would call weeds…but hey to each his own! 🙂 Nature is the best “Store” for decor. However, great faux florals are the absolute next best thing. Especially on a tablescape where food will be served.
I got these Mango Branches from Joss & Main and I couldn’t love them more. Faux Fruit branches are my favorite to use for Spring and Summer. These Mango Branches are beautiful and realistic, not to mention unusual. I just layered them on the table with some eucalyptus and twiggy branches. I also added them to the pot with some Magnolia leaves. Instant pop of color and adds just another layer of interest.
I shared some items I added to the Kitchen on my Instagram posts. A few new serving pieces and a beverage dispenser will make occasions with family and friends even more special.
I hope you like my new look! I wasn’t sure what look I was even going for when I started. I played, I gathered, and when it was all said and done I felt it had a little bit of Rustic, European and Modern all mixed in and I love it! I can’t wait for my friends and family to come over and enjoy it. I’ve listed some of my new items below. You can also Shop My Home for more.
