Spring Decor In the Kitchen!
With Spring here, many are thinking of flowers and gardening, open windows and fresh air! A few things I think of are fresh strawberries, salads with veggies from the garden and having friends over for dinners on the porch “Al Fresco” style. See how I brought some beautiful Spring decor into the kitchen using some pieces from the new collections at MacKenzie-Childs!
When I was a kid, my Mom always took us out of school for a day to go strawberry picking. There was nothing like eating strawberries fresh from the field. One for the basket, one for me. That’s kind of how the day went. 🙂 My kids love strawberry shortcake, or strawberries and cream. I love this cake stand, fun and whimsical and perfect for making a simple dessert at home more fun!
I got a few canisters to make even the most ordinary tea feel special! These canisters are metal which I love, so they won’t break. The flowers and the pop of bling at the top make them so pretty you’ll want to show them off. Funny enough, my kids love them!!
These will add the perfect touch of Spring to your kitchen counters or open shelving.
I have always loved cooking and my girls are becoming little chef’s as each day goes by. We enjoy spending time in the kitchen together and one thing that makes it even better is having pretty cookware. For some reason, it makes the food taste better and you feel a bit like Julia Child!
These enameled pieces are pretty enough to serve straight from stove or oven to table, which is great when having guests over.
Even adding something as simple as the flower filled spoon rest or colander will make you smile! Each piece is pretty enough to leave out all the time. This colander is cute, colorful and makes the kitchen seem happier! The radishes are smiling don’t you think?
I mentioned that my girls like to cook so we added another great cookbook to our collection. This one has some of the best recipes, great pictures and it’s easy to follow. I am not a fan of the ones that use ingredients I’ve never heard of. Family friendly cooking for sure!!
We even attempted some baking. How precious is this wooden spoon?
Last but not least we can’t leave out the salads and the appetizers. I love polka dots!!! When I saw these pieces, I had to have them. The canape knives and the serving spoons! The wood is so rich and gorgeous and looks so good against the black and white. Fun and beautiful!!! Who doesn’t like polka dots?? 🙂

There is a hug difference between today’s kitchen and ancient kitchen and if you will consider my opinion then I can say that nowadays kitchens are more than just serviceable places. Because apart from cooking one can gossip, share informal meals over here. So, I genuinely feel that a good ornamentation is very crucial to maintain its functionality, aesthetics and add value to the home. Though one can choose any time over a year, but I think the semi warm weather of spring makes it the most demanding time for kitchen decor.

Our Kitchen is definitely the heart of the home. I love hanging out here all year and for sure it’s fun to change up the decor from time to time. 🙂
