Shop The House Design Challenge – Fall Edition, Week 4
It’s the 4th and final week of the Shop The House Design Challenge. My friends and I have had so much fun, redecorating a space each week using only what we have in our homes. Click on the links to see week’s 1, 2 and 3. This week I pushed myself to do a Fall tablescape that is a little out of the ordinary for me. 🙂
So I asked my daughter’s what I should do for week 4 and they said “Copper”…my girls have such good taste! 🙂 They know I love my copper! I also wanted to use one of my vintage scales because if you follow me on Instagram you know I love my scales! I had some green garland from Hobby Lobby and some cool purple artichokes I had picked up at Michaels a few weeks back. So my mind was turning and I started playing.
I pulled out one of my favorite scales that has a gray base and brass bowls. I added my favorite White velvet pumpkins.
I started playing with the garland I got from Hobby Lobby and pulled out the purple artichokes, some green artichokes I had and some gorgeous faux plums I picked up along the way. I had a full Fall feast going on. 🙂
The really nice artichoke filled garlands can cost up to $50 so by making my own I was able to save quite a bit. I simply laid the artichokes and plums throughout the garland, I didn’t attach them. Also, since I love using artichokes in my kitchen decor I can use these later on for something else. I’ve included an affiliate link here to some nice looking artichokes in case you need some! 🙂
It was time to add some height to the table. I added a large, heavy stone candle holder I had to one end. I love the texture it added. Stone and cement pieces are something I’m always drawn to…I guess they have a timeless look to them.
Now I had to balance out the other side. I looked around at all my copper and pulled out a tall copper pot I had. I grabbed my pheasant feathers that I had gotten last fall. The two complimented each other instantly and just said “Fall” to me. The pot wasn’t quite tall enough so I “shopped the house” and found a stone pedestal I had. Sometimes it’s good to be a hoarder! 🙂
I added a few gold metallic candleholders I had for color and a little sparkle. Now the look is complete. It’s definitely a more festive tablescape than I’m used to doing, but my girls love it and even asked me to keep it for a while! What do you think?
