One Room Challenge Urban Industrial Vintage Laundry Room Week 2
Well, here we are, week 2 of the One Room Challenge, hosted by Linda of Calling it Home and House Beautiful. There is always so much talent shared in these challenges, I have a hard time keeping up with it all. If you’re just joining me…Welcome! You can see what I shared for Week 1 here. Now let’s see what’s new in our “Urban Industrial Vintage Laundry Room.”
I wanted to share the scary pics with you. You know the “I can’t believe I’m showing these pics.” The BEFORE photos. I’m notorious for forgetting to take the before photos. While I did manage to get some, they are filled with a little more clutter than usual because we were already emptying the room. It really isn’t that bad.
We actually have a great laundry room. It’s upstairs, has a large window with a view of the pine forest we live in. Large 9-foot countertop and a sink, typical wire shelving and some drawer space. Can’t complain. After this makeover, it may become my She-Shed, haha! It will be that cool!
As I mentioned last week…I’m going to drag the details out. Hey, at least I’m being honest. 🙂 It’s for no other reason than I love being surprised…I love when they draw back the curtains or open the door and BAM! You see the new space. But what would a blog post be without something new…so I do promise to give you new details each week. I am also going to be sharing products and items that I will be using along with some honest reviews, for you to use in your home!
Here is a look as to the direction I’m going. As I envisioned the space I wanted a little bit of everything I love…which is why I’ve described it as Urban Industrial Vintage. I couldn’t share all my ideas here, but you get an idea.
One thing that spurred this space on was the fact that we were in the market for a new washer and dryer. Our old machines were on their last leg and it was time. So that’s when Mr. BeesNBurlap suggested doing the Laundry Room for the ORC. Great idea!
Not only do they look sleek and stylish, the clothes are washed and dried in half the time, they barely make any noise when in use, and when they start and finish they sing a little tune. 🙂 Can I just say, I literally didn’t know what I was missing…I’m in love!! The models show here are made by LG (#WT1501CW and #DLE150W) and I bought them from super helpful people at hhgregg.
So now that I have new machines in, old ones out. Let’s review my To Do List.
-
Order and Install new machines. - Wall Treatments, 2/3 of the wall treatments are done.
- Countertop Makeover,working on it.
- Stylish Storage, working on it.
-
Lighting with a twist. -
Shelving. - Accessories and decor, including wall art, rug and small storage.
- Colorful Cubby.
So there you have it. I have lots to do and thankfully it’s only week 2. Be sure to visit all the ORC participants to see what spaces they are working on. If you have any questions on any products I post along the way, feel free to leave me a comment here on the Blog. Each week I will be posting more updates on our progress and most of all more amazing products. You won’t want to miss next week!
