Modern and Chic Easy Fall Decor Ideas
It may be in the 90’s outside, but it’s September and that means Fall is on it’s way. Here in Florida, I say we only have 2 seasons…Hot and Not-So-Hot. But that doesn’t mean I can’t make it feel like Fall indoors! Joining some talented friends to spread a little Fall around the home in our Cozy Fall Home Tour! If you’re joining me from my friend Sara at TwelveOnMain, welcome! 🙂
I’m not really a Seasonal Decorator…I tend to change things up enough! 😉 But I do love adding the cozy touches for Fall. There is something about the reprieve of Summer temps that is just so exciting!
Since finishing my Urban Chic She Den this past Spring…see it all here, I knew the perfect place to start. This room gets the best light and now that I have my bright white piano, it only seemed fitting to dress it up. I didn’t want to clutter it up though, so I kept a few rules in mind while decorating it.
Choose a Focal Point
To keep the room from losing it’s identity or getting swallowed up in burlap and pumpkins I chose a focal point…or two. This kept me focused and the decor somewhat contained.
Like I said…the piano area seemed like a good place to start! 😉
Choose Your Colors
Now that I had my spot, I had to choose my colors. For some reason this year the burgundy’s, purples and golds were calling my name. Of course, I had to add a touch of black and white as well!
When it comes to florals, Afloral is my first choice! They have an incredible variety of items and the prices are amazing. They were my Go-To resource, for all my faux florals seen here. You can use the code BEESNBURLAP10 for 10% off $50 or more on your own order.
I have always been drawn to naturals and dried flowers and love them everywhere. But I wanted some colors too. So I mixed them for the perfect arrangement. From a purple Iris to a brown sycamore branch. The key to a beautiful arrangement is texture and color and variety.
I think the mix of florals with branches and a gold artichoke stem turned out perfectly. Just the touch of Modern Glam Fall Decor I wanted in here. Even the gold compote vase looks great.
Afloral had these gorgeous Red Maple Branches, dried not faux. I’m so glad I got some. I used them in a few places like here on the piano for that special “looks like Fall” touch.
Don’t Forget to Add Texture
You know I try to add texture to every space. To me, that is the difference between a space feeling flat and boring to one feeling cozy and beautiful! Even in a small space like this, it’s no different. I got this silky soft faux hide rug from one of my favorite stores, At Home.
Rather than throw it on the floor, I draped it over the chair for a cozy touch.
On the floor, I added a soft leather braided rug from Homegoods. It had the perfect hues of beige, rust, and purple that went together so well with the color scheme!
By mixing in other bottles and vases it added another element of texture to the room. Yes, glass is a texture. Doesn’t it make these pheasant feathers look good?
I even added a touch of Fall to the other side of the room on the mantel. Not too much, but just enough to tie the spaces together. 😉
The Dried Pampas Grass from Afloral stole my heart this year! So tall and beautiful in its natural color…and just screamed Fall to me! But I’ll probably keep it up all year long…there is no rule that says I can’t! 😉
Don’t you just love how the gold, burgundy and purple looks in this room? They go so well together and they fit the Urban Chic look I love in here!
Now let’s talk about the Gourd in the Room! Have you noticed I have quite a few? 🙂 While I love a good pumpkin, gourds to me are just so much cooler! I don’t know if it’s the unique shape or the colors, but I’ve always been drawn to them. I was able to get a large collection from Afloral and was so impressed by not just the quantity, but the size of them. Again, these are something I could see using all year. They look great in a kitchen or overflowing in a vintage basket, or a cement urn like I have here!
So there you have it…my Touch of Modern Glam Fall Decor! You don’t have to overpower a space with colors, florals and decor to create a new look! Pick your space, choose your colors and mix your textures! Remember sometimes less is more! I hope you like what I did here in the Urban Chic She Den …I certainly do!

Holli, loved how you used the gourds instead of the pumpkins. They add a different texture all on their own with their shapes, crooked necks and coloring. I like your Mod and Chic Fall ideas. It good to go out the box sometimes. Hope to see more of your decorating. Thanks jean
