Kitchen Upgrades that Won’t Break the Bank!
Is your kitchen your command center, your central base, your workhorse of the house? It is for me! I spend most of my time in here and anytime I can make it a little better, I’m all for it! I’m so excited to show you some of the new pieces I’ve added to my kitchen that have not only made my life easier, but prettier. Come on in…I can’t wait to show you.
When you think Kitchen Upgrade do you think new tile, new cabinets, new countertops? Well, not all upgrades have to be that expensive or that extensive. I recently changed out a few things that we use everyday and let me tell you I feel like we have a “new and improved” space.

Living in the country, we have Well water. Over time it can prove to be quite harsh on your plumbing and appliances. So after a number of years, it seemed that my kitchen faucet was having issues. It was time to look at a replacement.
I worked with my friends at American Standard and was amazed at the selection. I knew I wanted a chrome faucet to keep with a more modern style. I personally use mixed metals in my kitchen, so you will see bits of chrome, brass and copper all around. No worries, they carry a variety of styles and options so I knew I’d find the right one. Check out which one I chose!!
She’s sleek, she’s shiny and she’s fancy! 🙂
I knew I needed a sprayer, that was a must. But take a look at the coolest option ever. Didn’t know I needed it, but now I’m totally hooked!
With the push of a button, I can select a pre-measured amount of water. How cool is that? So no measuring cup is required. At first, I wasn’t sure how I would like this feature…I’m here to tell you I love it! Not only is it fun and functional, but it makes my kitchen feel high tech! This is the Beale MeasureFill Touch Kitchen Faucet . I don’t have to pull out a measuring cup to add water to recipes, pots or bowls. Which means one less thing to wash and even my kids enjoy cooking more with it! Simply set the dial, push and watch it fill. This has taken faucets to a whole new level. Mr. BeesNBurlap was quite happy with how easy it was to install too! A win for everyone!!

So now that I have my fancy faucet with the best pressure and super sleek look. It was time to add a little “fancy” in other places.
Have you heard of SMEG? Have you seen the SMEG appliances? I have to say I’ve totally fallen for these products. I love the industrial, retro look that these pieces have. But not only do they look good, they are solid and work amazingly well.
Initially, I got the SMEG kettle and even Mr. BeesNBurlap loved it! So I knew I was on to something.
While I would love all the pieces SMEG carries, I had to be realistic as to what I would use and what I could fit on the counters. I got my SMEG pieces from Bed Bath & Beyond. They have a great selection of items and colors! Let’s be honest…bare, empty counters may look pretty, but this is a functioning kitchen…command center remember? 😉 At least what I have on the counters looks really good!!
The SMEG toaster was a definite. This one is a beast…in the best way. Our family is always toasting bagels, toast, English muffins and more…and this one will do 4 slices at a time. Perfect for a family or a small tribe for that matter. It’s a serious toaster and if you want just a 2 slice option they have that as well.
A toaster never looked so good right?

If you know me, you know I’m a coffee lover. So what’s even better than a coffee maker? An Espresso Maker…and the SMEG Espresso Maker is DA BOMB!! 😉
This one is so beautiful, I feel like I have my own coffee shop! I love how solid these pieces are…definitely made to last! Again, I got this at Bed Bath & Beyond and by using the Beyond+ membership, it saved quite a lot! Who says you need to have black and boring kitchen appliances? I went with the cream color and they work so well in my black and white kitchen, don’t you think?
Living in Florida and having owned Citrus Groves it’s only right that we have a good citrus juicer. This is where I had fun! SMEG has some really cute colors so I decided to go with what I call the Cotton Candy Pink color! Doesn’t it look even more retro in the pink? Too cute!
If you are like me and spend lots of time in the kitchen, it’s nice to have a space that not only works but looks good and makes you smile. You don’t have to do a whole remodel to get that. By adding a beautiful and functional new faucet and a few “fancy” small appliances, I feel like I got a mini refresh!
