It’s Seafood Time! Cooking Healthy at Home with Gorton’s Seafood
I don’t think I’ve ever cooked as much as I have over the last year. And to top it off… we have a house full of big appetites, picky tastebuds, and oh yeah, let’s be healthy as we go! All in all, I think we’ve done quite well.

I’ve tried to get creative with recipes…not just with taste in mind, but also time. Finding healthy and delicious recipes that are easy to make is a win/win for me!!
Our family tries to live a healthy lifestyle and that means a healthy diet. Here is a family favorite. Not only is it delicious, but it’s one of those meals you can make in under 30 minutes!

One thing that also changed for me this past year is how I shop. I’ve used the Curbside Pickup option a lot and I LOVE IT! For this recipe, I stocked up on everything I needed at Walmart. In particular, my Gorton’s Seafood. I got the Crunchy Breaded Fish Fillets. You can also use the Beer Battered Fish Fillets or the Popcorn Shrimp. All work really well with this recipe.

With every meal, I always try to have a good balance of protein, carbs, and vegetables. Using Gorton’s Fish Fillets is an excellent source of protein and can be an easy replacement for beef and chicken.

For this recipe, you will need…
Gorton’s Fish Fillets (Crunchy or Beer Battered)
8 -10″ Flour Tortillas
Shredded Cheese
Lettuce
Onions
Tomatoes
Avocados or Guacamole
Jalapenos
Sour Cream
Mayonaise
Limes
Taco Seasoning
Canned Black Beans (optional)
THE SAUCE
The first thing I do is make my yummy Taco Cream Sauce. It’s so good, but needs to be refrigerated for a little while so the sooner you make it, the better. You can even make it the day before if you’d like.
Taco Cream Sauce Recipe
1 cup sour cream
2 Tbs Mayo
2 tsp Taco Seasoning
Juice from half of a lime
Mix together and chill

Once that’s done…
- `Bake your Gorton’s Crunchy Fish Fillets according to the package.
- Layout your tortillas (room temp is fine or warm on low in the oven).
- Chop and prep your toppings. Tomatoes, Onions, Avocados, Lettuce, Cheese, jalapenos…whatever you like.
- For an extra layer, you can add black beans (canned and heated through).
TIME TO ASSEMBLE
Lay flour tortillas on a plate, add black beans (optional), add fish (I recommend chopping into small pieces), then top with lettuce, cheese, onions, jalapenos, tomatoes, avocados, or guacamole and top with Taco Cream Sauce mixture. Roll tortilla and enjoy!!!

You can make the same with the Gorton’s Popcorn Shrimp or combine the Shrimp and Fish Fillets together. Whatever you do your family will love it. My son has asked for these every week. As a Mom, I’m happy to oblige. They are easy, healthy, budget-friendly, and absolutely delicious. Try substituting Gorton’s Fish Fillets or Shrimp into one or two of your weekly recipes. A healthy protein that will surely please even the picky eaters!

This is a family favorite and we have it a few times a month. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Head to your local Walmart to get your favorite Gorton’s Seafood now!
