Fall Harvest Porch Decor with Bed Bath & Beyond
Hey Everyone…it’s time…time to get the throw blankets out, clean out the firepit and get ready for s’mores, lots and lots of s’mores. 😉
Fall is my favorite time of year here in Florida because it means the crazy heat and humidity will be slowing down a bit. For me, that’s when I enjoy our back porch and outdoor spaces the most.
I partnered with my friends at Bed Bath & Beyond to give our back porch a budget-friendly makeover that had a huge impact! I’m ready for friends and family to come over. YOU my friends…get to see it first! I hope in some way it inspires you.
So first things first…I cleared the space out, removing our existing LARGE outdoor sectional. While I loved it, it was pretty much taking up 3/4 of the room. I wanted more areas to sit, eat and hang out.
The key to my new layout was “SCALE”. Meaning the size of one object in relation to another.
If you have an area in your home that is troubling you…look at the scale of the pieces you have. Is one overpowering the space? Are they in proportion to the room they are in? If not, clear out the room and start over.
New Layout
So I cleared the room and laid a foundation…literally. I got this gorgeous outdoor rug from the Bee & Willow Collection and I love not only the subtle pattern but the tight weave of the rug…it’s strong, yet soft underfoot.
Next up…I found these two loveseats that were the perfect size. My large sectional seated 4-5 comfortably…
these loveseats seat 4 and take up a lot less room. They have a sleek mid-century modern design as well. People always seem surprised when I say I got it at Bed Bath & Beyond…but I promise…I did! 😉
I centered them in the space and faced them towards each other…it makes for cozy conversation, morning coffee, and the perfect spot for wine by the fire.
Add Function
I added this glass and marble side table…it’s perfect because visually it doesn’t take up any space. Sleek and solid and adds the perfect spot for a coffee mug or wine glass. 😉
Opposite the loveseats and centered on the wall…I put this narrow, metal Holly & Martin table. It’s perfect out here because the narrow size holds everything from food and drinks for gatherings to plants and herbs.
Cozy Dining Spot
Now that the center of the room is done. I focused on the corner with my Fishing Basket chandelier. I wanted to create a small but cozy dining space with a view.
I shopped my home first and used my gold dining chairs I had stashed upstairs. Yes, my loft has become my storage unit. That’s another project, for another time. 😉
Now I needed a small coffee table to match their style and work with the outdoors. This one was perfect!!! It’s round and metal and has the coolest texture. Just what I was looking for. What do you think?
Time to Accessorize
I splashed some Fall decor around…from the glass LED pumpkin to the beautiful hurricane candle arrangement. I created layers of cozy texture with baskets, throws, glass bottles , branches, pillows and candles.
I even added some new dishes, amber goblets and wicker chargers for outdoor entertaining. These are all from the Bee & Willow Collection at Bed Bath & Beyond.
One of the other big improvements we made was adding these outdoor curtains and rods to the space. It gives the porch a more finished look. Thank you Mr. BeesNBurlap for helping!
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy the changes I made. I am in love with this new space and spent the day out here writing this blog post! I wish you could all come over for a s’more or a glass of wine!
