Decorate Your Mantel For Fall – Fall Festival Blog Hop
It’s officially Fall and that means hues of orange and brown and all things pumpkin right? Maybe for some, but not for me. For me, Fall is more about transitioning from bright colors to cooler tones. My friends and I are sharing our take on Fall this week for various areas around the home. Be sure to stop by and see all the amazing spaces on the Fall Festival Blog Hop. I can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on.
If you have followed me on Instagram or here on the Blog for any length of time, you know how much I LOVE styling shelves, mantels or tables. I had been on the hunt for a vintage mantel to add to our foyer for a while. I fell in love with one at a local shop but it was way too high. I decided to call one of my favorite shop owners and ask her if she had any…and she did! She actually had 2 in her storage room and for 1/4 the price of the other one. Score!!!
What’s the lesson here…
Make friends with the local shops and don’t hesitate to ask for what you’re looking for…it just may be in the back room! 😉
Once I cleaned her up, I gave her a fresh coat of white paint and distressed it. It was already painted black so some of the black paint peeked through and that looked even better. Mr. BeesNBurlap secured it to the wall for me and I was ready to go.

Here in Florida, we have two seasons…Hot and Not-So-Hot. It’s still in the high 80’s, low 90’s so it’s hard to get in the Hot Cocoa spirit just yet. But when all the beautiful florals start coming out for Fall and Winter, I have to play. I have quite an addiction to “good” faux florals. My favorite shop to buy online is Afloral. I decided to go with greens, whites, and pops of navy and burgundy this year. I love the fresh look while adding a hint of cool color.
Here she is all dressed up for Fall… or what we call the Not-So-Hot months! 😉
What do you think? I honestly love it so much I could keep it like this all year. I do notice bits of glitter on the floor from time to time but that just makes the floors sparkly, right?! 😉
All the florals used here are from Afloral. To get this look I did the following:
- Build a foundation using eucalyptus and various greenery, layer and create a larger draping piece at the end.
- Next, I added some stems like Peonies (White and very Pale Pink), Berries and even some Succulents.
- Lastly, I added some frosted branches and draping sedum for that beautiful cascading look.
I played around with the arrangement filling in low spots and adding stems and color where needed. I think the succulents add a nice touch. Again, I was going for a cool, clean look but still interesting. I think it works!
To balance out the other side, I added pillar candles in various heights. I included one of my favorite Antique candle holders I recently got from a local shop. It’s from Egypt and has a beautiful gray tone to it. Along with a couple of vintage brass candle holders for texture.
Though my candle holders are vintage and from local shops, I’ve linked a few great options for you below.
Option 1, Option 2 and Option 3.
I’ve also linked a few great mirror options here as well.

You’re so sweet Yuni! Thank you sweet friend!!!
Beautiful mantel. Love all those beautiful colors in the flower arrangement (and love your take on the glittery floor 🙂 ). We used to live in AZ and I remember it being a little difficult to get into the spirit of fall when it was still 100 degrees outside… but I sure did love the warm winters.
Thanks Erin! Yes it’s hard to feel the cooler months when it’s boiling outside. haha 🙂
Loving those cascading florals!!!! So beautiful Holli.
Thank you Shannon! I loved playing with these florals!!
Holli, this is so pretty! I love that you have a mantel propped against the wall and have considered doing the same thing in our dining room. The arrangement on top is gorgeous!
So happy to find you through the blog hop.
Thank you Stacey…I love the mantel. More area to style! 🙂
Oh this is lovely! I am a fan of the traditional fall colours but you’ve made me appreciate a new take on it…and I may just have to give it a try. I also would never think to do an asymmetrical layout like you’ve done here with the beautiful floral garland on one side and candles on the other but I love it! So fun to see how others do things!
Thanks so much Lori! I love how it turned out and I had a great time playing with them! 🙂
Your mantle is gorgeous Holli! Can’t believe that shop had a vintage one for you! And those floral are so stunning!
Thank you Kendra! Yes, that mantel was a great find!!! 🙂
